SUNDAY’S WORD (11/1410)

Note: For 11/14, we are going off the Lectionary. Our scriptures are taken from 2 Corinthians and Matthew

II Corinthians 9:12-15

What you are doing is much more than a service that supplies God’s people with what they need. It is something that will make many others thank God. The way in which you have proved yourselves by this service will bring honor and praise to God. You believed the message about Christ, and you obeyed it by sharing generously with God’s people and with everyone else.

Now they are praying for you and want to see you, because God used you to bless them so very much. Thank God for his gift that is too wonderful for words!

Matthew 7: 7-12

Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. Everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And the door will be opened for everyone who knocks.

Would any of you give your hungry child a stone, if the child asked for some bread? Would you give your child a snake if the child asked for a fish? As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children.

But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give good things to people who ask.

Treat others as you want them to treat you. This is what the Law and the Prophets are all about.
